Natalie Harper
For more than twenty-five years I have worked at the intersection of reputation, communications, leadership and business strategy.
My career began in agency environments rooted in public relations and media relations, where I learned that lasting reputation is never built through communications alone. It is built through leadership, consistency and trust.
In 2011 I founded Harper Public Relations, advising organizations through growth, transformation, issues management, executive communications and strategic positioning. Over time the role expanded beyond communications into trusted strategic advisory — helping leadership teams build confidence, navigate complexity and strengthen organizational reputation.
That journey led to a long-term consulting relationship with one of North America's largest custom home franchising networks, and then to its Home Office management team — where I led the transformation of the brand and marketing function into a strategic, brand-first team supporting more than 100 independently owned locations, championing an authority-led approach to growth.
Harper Public Relations brings together everything I have learned about helping organizations build authority — from executive visibility and thought leadership to public relations, content strategy, digital discoverability and organizational trust.
Organizations don't become leaders because they say they are. They become leaders because others recognize them as one.
Follow the work as it happens — commentary on authority, reputation, and what's actually changing in PR.
Career highlights
Alair Homes — 12+ years of brand building
What began as a Harper PR client relationship became a twelve-year leadership role helping scale Alair Homes from a growing custom home builder into a sophisticated North American brand spanning 100+ locations. As Director of Communications and a member of the Home Office Management Team, I worked directly with executive leadership on brand and business strategy while leading a team of eight and managing 20+ agency and vendor partners — a portfolio spanning brand strategy, PR, communications, reputation, digital, content, events and strategic partnerships, with oversight of multi-million-dollar marketing investments.
I helped develop new brand architecture and positioning, led the rollout of a digital ecosystem that consolidated 125+ individual websites into one integrated platform, and established the Alair Local Authority Network and a brand journalism strategy designed to turn local expertise into brand authority. I created Alair Cares, led Alair Magazine, national media relations and thought leadership, and built scalable programs for awards, crisis communications, brand governance, major events, market launches and partnerships.
Over that tenure my role evolved from telling Alair's story to helping architect, operationalize and protect the brand itself — connecting executive strategy with execution, and bringing hundreds of individual voices together as one credible, recognizable North American brand.
